About this Program

  • Learn writing, interviewing, reporting, videography, editing and anchoring, as well as producing for traditional and digital media platforms.
  • Study critical issues, including ethical dilemmas, facing today’s complex communications environment.
  • Get hands-on experience through newscast productions that take place in our combined newsroom and HD studio.
  • Work in a newsroom, studio and control room featuring state-of-the-art equipment that can be found at many stations across the country, including Adobe Premiere Pro, fully robotic cameras and a video wall.
  • Explore opportunities beyond the classroom at three campus radio stations and a student-operated television station.
  • Build your career network with Newhouse alumni who work in local news and sports media, as well as national and international networks like CNN and ESPN.
