Undergraduate Student Representative to the Board, 2025–26
Anna Mirer is a senior in the Maxwell School and College of Arts and Sciences, triple majoring in neuroscience, psychology, and policy studies. Her passion for mental health and community well-being grew from her experience working as a medical assistant in a neurology office that primarily served Russian-speaking patients. As an immigrant herself, Mirer saw firsthand how language and cultural barriers can limit access to care, inspiring her to pursue research and policy work that expand mental health resources for underrepresented communities.
At Syracuse University, she has served as Vice President of University Affairs for the Student Government Association and as a senator in the University Senate, where she advocates for student wellness and inclusion. She also co-founded Connect 315, a student-led initiative that builds partnerships between Syracuse University and the surrounding community through dialogue and collaboration.
Mirer currently interns with the Department of Neighborhood and Business Development, and her research with the Engaged Humanities Network explores strategies for embedding civic engagement into campus culture. Her professional experiences include work with Move This World, the YMCA of CNY, and the Golisano Center for Special Needs.
Mirer serves as one of two undergraduate student representatives for the 2025-26 academic year. She participates in the Student Experience Committee and reports to the Board at Executive Committee and full Board meeting.
