Celebrate Campus Events

There is plenty to celebrate on campus in the fall. Annual events like Syracuse University Homecoming bring alumni back to the Hill with family and friends to relive memories and make new ones. For our current students, Family Weekend reunites them with their loved ones with a variety of events and activities to experience together. And each fall we grow stronger as an Orange community by honoring our students who perished in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 bombing with Remembrance Week.

Rally for Game Days

The Orange spirit comes alive on game days in the JMA Wireless Dome. Lucky for us, fall ushers in the seasons for a variety of sports on campus. Our football team, alongside the men’s and women’s basketball teams, enters the Loud House in the fall, giving plenty of chances to cheer, “Let’s go Orange!” Outside the dome, sports thrive on campus with teams for field hockey, volleyball and men’s and women’s soccer. If you’re thinking of exploring your athletic side, consider joining one of our club sports teams.

Experience Quintessential Fall Fun

Central New York is home to all the fall activities you could dream of. Apple picking is just minutes from campus at orchards such places as Beak & Skiff and Owens Orchards. During pumpkin season, farms like Tim’s Pumpkin Patch have just the gourd you’re looking for and offer a variety of other fun activities like hayrides and mazes to enjoy on a crisp fall day.

Embrace Adventure All Around

When you’re living in Central New York, you have access to some of the most gorgeous fall foliage everywhere you turn. Within city limits, the Erie Canalway Trail provides a walking and biking path primed with beautiful leaves turning red, yellow and, yes, orange. A day trip to the Adirondack Mountains provides lovely views to savor, both along the drive and during your hike.

Discover Seasonal Art and Festivals

Celebrations are around every corner in the fall: harvest festivals with vendors and live music, Diwali, Halloween and the Day of the Dead are just some of the opportunities to celebrate. Our events calendar will keep you up to date on any on-campus events, while Visit Syracuse shares events happening within the larger Syracuse community.
