Use the Orange Transfer Credit Navigator tool to determine how your previous college courses or AP/CLEP/IB exams may apply to your intended degree program at Syracuse University.

Note: Current Syracuse University students should contact their home college advisor regarding transferring credits back to your Syracuse degree program.

Steps to Using Syracuse University's Orange Transfer Credit Navigator

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to Orange Transfer Credit Navigator in your web browser. No account or login is needed to get started—you can explore right away. Start by choosing up to three majors of interest. You can check out our full list of majors or browse the list.
  2. Select your current institution: Search for and select the college or university you are currently attending or have previously attended. If you cannot find your school, click on the “Contact a Counselor” link and we can work with you to review your courses.
  3. Enter your completed or in-progress courses: Add the courses you've taken(or are currently taking) at your institution. You can include courses you plan to take before transferring.
    If you don’t find courses from your school, you will be prompted to enter information to submit them for review by our transfer team. When a Syracuse University equivalent is determined, you will receive an email notification.
  4. Explore majors and degree programs at Syracuse University: Browse Syracuse University's available degree programs and see which major might be the best fit for your estimated transfer credits. The Orange Transfer Credit Navigator provides program descriptions and relevant career outcome data to help you choose.
  5. View your credit transfer estimate and degree progress: See an estimated breakdown of how your credits may apply toward your chosen Syracuse University degree—including which degree requirements they may fulfill.
  6. Save your results and connect with Admissions: You can save or share your results. The Orange Transfer Credit Navigator also gives you the option to connect with Syracuse University's Admissions team, who can follow up with personalized guidance.
  7. Apply to Syracuse University when you're ready: Once you've explored your options, take the next step and submit your application to Syracuse. Your portal results can serve as a helpful reference throughout the admissions process.

Note: The Orange Transfer Credit Navigator is an exploratory tool—results are estimates and are not a guarantee of official credit transfer. Official transfer credit is evaluated after matriculation to Syracuse University.
