Law Student Representative to the Board, 2025–2026

Ryleigh Mellen is a third-year law student at the College of Law. She currently serves as managing editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce, Vol. 53, after previously holding the position of Associate Editor for Vol. 52. Additionally, she serves as a law ambassador to the College of Law, and student assistant in the College of Law's Office of Admissions & Financial Aid. During the fall of 2024, she was a Student Attorney in the Syracuse Law Bankruptcy Clinic. Mellen spent the summer of 2024 in Syracuse, New York at Bond, Schoeneck & King as a 1L Summer Associate; she returned as a 2L Summer Associate in the summer of 2025. Mellen will join Bond, Schoeneck & King as an Associate Attorney post-graduation.

Prior to attending the College of Law, Mellen had a three-year career as a corporate paralegal. Her undergraduate degree is in media studies from CUNY Hunter College in New York City.

Mellen serves as the law student representative to the board for the 2025-26 academic year. She participates in the Board’s Academic Affairs and the Student Experience Committees and reports to the Board at Executive Committee and full Board meetings.
