Brianna Gillfillian ’24, G’25 is on a mission to make STEM education more engaging and accessible for underserved communities. As the founder of STEAMfluence , she is developing a summer program that targets students of color and other underrepresented groups, helping them envision themselves as future scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs. Through mentorship and hands-on workshops, STEAMfluence breaks down learning barriers and fosters diversity in STEM fields. Gillfillian credits Syracuse University’s Blackstone LaunchPad and faculty mentorship as crucial to her journey of transforming her vision into a growing initiative.

Tony Goncalves ’27 is transforming the fitness industry with GymIn, an innovative platform that tracks gym equipment usage in real time to optimize operations. His solution helps gym owners reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance the overall member experience. By retrofitting existing gym equipment with sensors, GymIn offers a scalable and affordable approach to enhancing gym management for facilities of all sizes. Goncalves credits programs and resources like Invent@SU, the Blackstone LaunchPad and the Couri Hatchery for providing critical mentorship, funding and a support system throughout the early stages of development. In addition, the Barnes Center at The Arch served as a vital partner, allowing him to test the hardware and software in a real-world gym environment.

Lars Jendruschewitz ’27 is bringing fresh perspectives to the photography industry with Photos by Lars, a company focused on helping brands stand out through creative, dynamic visuals. Specializing in food and beverage product photography, Jendruschewitz has worked with numerous businesses, elevating their brand imagery to boost their market presence. Through Syracuse University’s Blackstone LaunchPad, Lars has gained invaluable mentorship, resources and community support to grow his venture and provide significant return on investment for his clients.

Drawing on her experiences at Syracuse University’s Rose, Jules R., and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music and Martin J. Whitman School of Management, Kapllani has leveraged the Blackstone LaunchPad to build a strong network and expand her business, providing artists with the support they need to succeed.
