​Checklist for Admitted Graduate Students

This checklist will help ensure that your admission acceptance is complete.

Complete the Items Below

1.

Submit your Intent to Register form

You will receive your Intent to Register form via email from e-gradadm@syr.edu. You should complete and return it to formally accept your offer of admission. Send completed forms by email to graduateitr@syr.edu or by mail to:

If you have been admitted to the College of Law, please review the intent to enroll process.
2.

Pay a tuition deposit, if required

Each program of study has specific tuition deposit information.
3.

Activate your Syracuse University NetID and password

In order to access online services for students, you must activate your NetID.
4.

Submit final official degree bearing transcript(s) and required documentation of your earned degree(s)

By the end of their first semester of study, all graduate students must submit an official transcript which must bear the appropriate signatures and seal of the institution that issued it, and must be received by Syracuse University in a sealed envelope directly from that institution. Unsealed documents which may have been in the hands of students are not considered official.
5.

Demonstrate proof of qualifying health insurance coverage

Learn more about the student health insurance requirement. 
6.

Obtain all required immunizations and file the health record form

Health Services provides a patient portal for students to securely upload required immunizations and complete needed health screenings. Use your NetID and password to access the portal at suhsportal.syr.edu. Records are due prior to your arrival on campus.
7.

Plan your first registration

The Office of the Registrar is home to all registration information.
8.

File a FAFSA form

You must file a FAFSA in order to be considered for federal student aid.
9.

Make housing arrangements on campus or off campus

Housing, Meal Plan, and I.D. Card Services can help you secure on-campus housing.
10.

Review orientation information

Check the Graduate School calender for more information on orientation events.
