Syracuse University and Onondaga Community College are pleased to offer this unique opportunity to help ensure student success at Syracuse University and beyond.
This pathway program enables select students to pursue a Syracuse University degree after attending Onondaga Community College for two years. If you meet the below criteria after completing your associate degree at Onondaga Community College you will be guaranteed admission to Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science or School of Information Studies (iSchool).

Note: Only students who are invited to the Syracuse Pathway Program may participate.
Program Details
If you have been selected and choose to participate in the pathway program, you will:
- Attend nearby Onondaga Community College (located five miles from Syracuse University Main Campus) for your first two years. After that, you can transfer credits to Syracuse University (requirements apply).
- Complete your bachelor’s degree at Syracuse University.
Benefits
- At Onondaga Community College (OCC), you will participate in student orientation and have access to the same services and support that all OCC students enjoy.
- At the conclusion of your second year at Onondaga Community College, provided you have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA and earned your associate degree, you will be guaranteed admission to Syracuse University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science or the School of Information Studies.
- Syracuse University and OCC staff will be available to assist with course registration. We recommend you consult with academic advisors from Syracuse and OCC to confirm that selected courses are transferable.
Requirements
- Complete your associate degree at Onondaga Community College.
- Achieve at least a 3.0 GPA.
- Students must submit their transcript to Syracuse University at the conclusion of the spring semester of their first year at Onondaga Community College and again after their third semester. Students must enroll at Syracuse University the semester after they complete their associate degree.
