The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs is Syracuse University’s home for innovative, interdisciplinary teaching and research in the social sciences, public policy, public administration and international relations. Requirements for the B.A. include 36 credit hours and proficiency in a modern second language:

  • Three required introductory courses
  • Three advanced courses in each of two concentrations
  • Two research methods courses
  • Senior seminar/capstone research project.

Our B.S. degree is one of the few offered in the United States. It combines interdisciplinary social science courses with rigorous training in research methods and data analytics, as well as study abroad opportunities, internships and faculty-led research projects. Membership in a range of clubs and activities enhances classroom learning.
