About this Program

  • Specialize your curriculum based on your desired career path—industry, research or pre-medicine.
  • Collaborate with faculty on research projects at the Syracuse BioInspired Institute, SUNY Upstate Medical University and the SUNY Institute for Human Performance.
  • Join any of the College of Engineering and Computer Science’s 20 clubs and student organizations such as the Biomedical Engineering Society and Engineering World Health.
  • Choose electives that prepare you to meet the Association of American Medical College’s entrance requirements if a career in medicine is your goal.
  • Earn a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and an MBA from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Management through the five-year H. John Riley Dual Engineering/MBA Program.
  • Earn a master’s degree in biomedical engineering one year after successful completion of the bachelor’s degree through the 4+1 B.S./M.S. Program.
  • Graduate and begin work at companies like Abbott, Baxter, Brainlab, Boston Scientific, Bristol Myers Squibb, Medtronic, Merck, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Stryker and many others.
  • Accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
