International transfer students are encouraged to apply by January 5 if possible, to receive full consideration for admission and housing. Enrollment in some colleges and programs may be limited. International transfer applications will be evaluated by the Admissions Committee as they are received and become complete. Students wishing to apply for admission for the spring (January) semester are encouraged to submit their applications early in the fall (mid to late October).
To be admitted to Syracuse University, international transfer applicants must:
- Demonstrate sufficient academic preparation to achieve success in their studies at Syracuse
- Demonstrate the ability to pay for all educational expenses
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English Language

Follow these steps to complete your application:
Complete the Common Application or Coalition Application powered by Scoir, and submit to Syracuse University.
*If you are eligible for an application fee waiver you will be able to indicate this on the Common Application or Coalition Application.
Ensure that all your transcript/academic credentials are submitted by mail. This includes your most recent college transcript as well as your final secondary school transcript or Leaving Certificate. You may view our credentials and advanced credit policies for more information.
Any items submitted by mail should be sent to the appropriate mailing address.
One academic recommendation is required.

Who?
All freshman and transfer applicants who reside outside the United States and whose first language is not English must submit English language proficiency exam results. Syracuse University will consider the test results in combination with other application materials and documentation to gain a holistic understanding of your English language proficiency.
