Study Abroad

Syracuse University’s passion for and strength in the area of sport and wellness extends far beyond our main campus in Syracuse, NY. Students wishing to study abroad and gain international experience in their field can choose from over 100 different programs in 60 countries across the world. There are even programs specifically formatted for student-athletes and sports enthusiasts alike.

Featured Program: Olympic Odyssey

Spend your summer traveling across Europe as you explore the history and culture of the Olympic movement, through Syracuse Abroad’s summer program, Olympic Odyssey. During this multi-country traveling seminar, you’ll visit Athens, Greece; Lausanne, Switzerland; London, United Kingdom; and Paris, France, while examining the impact of the games on host cities and developing an understanding of international sports from a strategic sport management perspective.


At Syracuse, we prepare our students for success in state-of-the-art research facilities and real-world sports venues. Whether you're covering the basketball game from Newhouse’s Digital News Center or measuring body composition with Falk College’s BOD POD®, you’re sure to be gaining valuable hands-on experiences in world-class learning environments.

Experiential Learning

Experiential learning is a key component of Syracuse University’s academic philosophy. Because of this, internships and extracurriculars are highly encouraged.


With valuable opportunities right here in Central New York, students have the ability to jump-start their careers with real-world experience, including interning at Syracuse AthleticsSIDEARM Sports, the Syracuse Mets baseball team and the Syracuse Crunch hockey team. Additionally, our students have interned with NBC Olympics, the National Baseball Hall of Fame, ESPN, UNICEF and more!
