Melissa Welshans is a PhD Student in English with research focusing on sixteenth and seventeenth century English literature, particularly the works of John Milton. Her current project examines Milton's deployment of biblical narratives to argue for contemporary social change, specifically as those changes relate to the lives of women in early modern England (and beyond).
