Hendricks Luncheon Discussion will focus on role of faith in social justice movements

Hendricks Chapel will present “Occupy Faith,” the next installment in its Luncheon Discussion Series, on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at noon in the Noble Room, located on the lower level of Hendricks Chapel.

A free vegetarian lunch will be provided. RSVP for the lunch only to Elizabeth Cronk at eacronk@syr.edu. No RSVP is necessary is you are only attending for the discussion.

An interreligious panel will explore the role of faith in movements for social justice and address how diverse social communities can come together to combat the most pressing social needs.

Panelists will include the Rev. Kevin Agee, pastor of Hopps Memorial CME Church; Mohamed Khater, former president of the Islamic Society of Central New York; the Rev. Gail Riina, SU’s Lutheran chaplain; and Rabbi Dan Fellman of Temple Concord. The panel will be facilitated by Beth Broadway, executive director of Interfaith Works.

  • Randall Korman named interim dean of School of Architecture

    May 17, 2012 Vice Chancellor and Provost Eric F. Spina today named Associate Dean Randall Korman as interim dean-designate of the School of Architecture. Korman will assume the interim deanship on July 1, when School of Architecture Dean Mark Robbins will depart the University and begin his new position as executive director of the International Center of Photography in New York City.
