Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
The Syracuse University community is monitoring news reports regarding the aftermath of the catastrophic earthquake that struck off the coast of Japan overnight, as well as its still-unfolding effects around the Pacific Rim, including the West Coast of the United States. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Japan and all who are experiencing loss or hardship as a result of these natural disasters. We are in the process of gathering information about the impact of these events on members of SU’s global family.
Members of the SU community who are concerned about family or friends in affected areas may contact the Slutzker Center for International Services, which stands ready to provide support and assistance to those who are concerned about loved ones. Staff there can be reached at lescis@syr.edu, which will be monitored throughout the weekend. As information about relief efforts becomes available, it will be shared through the Slutzker Center website (http://international.syr.edu).
