The Syracuse University Symphony Band will present a concert Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m. in the Rose and Jules R. Setnor Auditorium, Crouse College. The concert is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the Irving Garage.
The symphony band performs under the direction of Justin J. Mertz, assistant director of bands at SU and a faculty member in the Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music in SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts. The band will perform Symphony No. 1: “The Lord of the Rings” by Johan de Meij.
The symphony band is open to both music majors and non-majors at SU. The ensemble performs the most outstanding traditional and contemporary wind band repertoire.
