Bill Halpin ’88, G’95, G’05, MTS/software engineer at Google, will visit Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications on Monday, Oct. 3, as a guest of the advertising department’s Eric Mower Advertising Forum. He will speak at 2:15 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. His talk is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots. Follow the talk on Twitter via #Halpin.
Halpin works at Google’s Mountain View, Calif., headquarters, where he leads quality efforts for Google’s mobile display ads.
Prior to Google, he worked at Intel, IBM, GE, Synopsys and Synplicity.
He is the co-author of one book, seven papers and three patents.
He is an SU alumnus, having earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and computer engineering from The College of Arts & Sciences and the L.C. Smith College of Engineering and Computer Science (LCS), and master’s and doctoral degrees in computer engineering from LCS. While a student, he started IQE, a database company, with colleagues from SU’s CASE Center.
