Elliot Groffman, a music industry attorney and founding partner of Carroll, Guido & Groffman, and David Goodman, president of CBS Interactive Music Group, will present a joint lecture on Tuesday, April 12, at 6:45 p.m. in the Lender Auditorium, located on the concourse level of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. The lecture is part of the Bandier Program’s Soyars Leadership Lecture Series in the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ (VPA) Rose, Jules R. and Stanford S. Setnor School of Music. It is open to the University community only.
Groffman’s firm specializes in the representation of artists and entrepreneurs in the music industry. Artist clients include Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Jay-Z, the Strokes, the Killers, Arcade Fire, Decemberists, Patti Smith, David Byrne and the Jonas Brothers. Before forming Carroll, Guido & Groffman, Groffman was a partner at Grubman, Indursky and Schindler, a leading music law firm. Prior to that, he was an associate at Epstein, Becker and Green, a law firm specializing in labor and employment law.
Goodman has served as president of the CBS Interactive Music Group since May 2009. The newly formed CBS division includes CBS RADIO’s digital properties and online assets, as well as the music discovery site Last.fm. Goodman is responsible for the digital music assets, bringing together the resources of CBS Interactive with the content, promotional, advertising and sales opportunities provided by CBS RADIO, as well as monetizing the division’s ongoing digital initiatives. Goodman previously served as president of digital media and integrated marketing for CBS RADIO.
