The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University will host a guest lecture by Brian Spector ’78, partner and founder of Spector & Ehrenworth, a five-lawyer law firm specializing in commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, commercial transactions, real estate and casino regulatory law, on Thursday, April 22, at 2 p.m. in Room 306 of the Whitman School building. The lecture, titled “Reflections on a Career in Business Law—One Lawyer’s Story of His 35-Year Journey and the Importance of his Whitman School Roots,” is part of Whitman’s “Intro to the Legal System” course.
Spector has been practicing law in the Northern New Jersey area for more than 28 years. In addition to all state courts in New Jersey, Spector is admitted to practice before the U.S. District for the District of New Jersey, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also been admitted to practice pro hac vice and represented clients in many other states.
Spector gained prominence while trying a case in which he was able to shift almost $300,000 of his clients’ fees and expenses to the opposing party under the New Jersey Offer of Judgment Rule. He earned his J.D. at Temple University.
