Beta Alpha Psi, a student organization within the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University, will host the third annual Tracy Halpin Memorial Fun Walk on Saturday, April 24, starting at 11 a.m. The fun walk will start at Hendricks Chapel and end with a barbecue on the Quad. Many awards will be given out, including awards for “Fastest Walker” and “Most Spirited.” All participants get a free T-shirt. Registration is $25 per person.
Tracy Halpin was an honor student in the Whitman School who died unexpectedly in January 2006. She had just finished her tenure as president of Beta Alpha Psi and had plans to accept a job offer from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Rochester after she graduated with honors in May 2006.
Every year, Beta Alpha Psi holds the Fun Walk run in her memory. Proceeds from the run go to the Tracy Halpin Fund, which supports an annual award to an outstanding Beta Alpha Psi student who shares Tracy’s leadership qualities.
To register for the race, contact Christie Yesersky ’10 at cmyesers@syr.edu.
