The Everson Museum of Art will host a screening of student works, including those by Syracuse University students, on Sunday, Nov. 7, at 2 p.m. in the museum’s Hosmer Auditorium, 401 Harrison St., Syracuse. The 60-minute screening is free and open to the public.
The screening, “Contemplative Videos: The World Unfolding Moment by Moment,” includes work by students of Anne Beffel, associate professor of foundation in SU’s College of Visual and Performing Arts, as well as those in the Hendricks Interfaith Travel Abroad Program and the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central High School.
“These videos allow the viewer to watch the world unfold before them, as seen through the eyes of young people attending to their day-to-day worlds,” says Pam McLaughlin, curator of education and public programs at the Everson. “It’s a way to see daily life, one moment at a time.”
The screening is part of the Everson’s Contemporary Film Series, which screens contemporary, independent film and video, both feature lengths and experimental shorts that cover a broad range of cinematic styles and themes.
