The humidity in Charleston, S.C., has not dampened that city's vibrant spring arts festivals. Students in the 2010 Goldring Arts Journalism Program in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications are reporting on the hot topics at both the Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto.
The Newhouse arts journalists are covering Spoleto's music, theater and dance for Charleston's Post and Courier. They will continue to write, photograph and videotape their updates through June 13.
Spoleto Festival USA was founded in the late 1970s as a companion event to the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto, Italy. Each spring, for 17 days and nights, the festival features internationally known artists and new performers alike. Piccolo Spoleto is a complementary event focusing on southeastern U.S. artists.
Follow the Goldring students' adventures through their blogs, reviews and videos (links listed below) or catch the latest on Twitter (@SpoletoToday or #spoto) and Facebook.
