Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications will host a talk by Steven Greenhouse, labor and workplace reporter for The New York Times, on Monday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Joyce Hergenhan Auditorium in Newhouse 3. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in SU pay lots.
Greenhouse will discuss his book “The Big Squeeze: Tough Times for the American Worker” (Knopf, 2008), an in-depth account of the way workers have been affected as American companies clamp down on wages, cut benefits, weaken job security, and violate wage and hour laws.
Greenhouse has covered workplace issues for The New York Times since the mid-1990s and is one of the few remaining full-time labor reporters in the country. “The Big Squeeze” is his first book. More information is available online at www.stevengreenhouse.com.
