Cows for sale: Syracuse Stage presents events, partnerships, lobby display for 'Tales from the Salt City'

For the run of "Tales from the Salt City," Syracuse Stage has partnered with several organizations to celebrate local culture. A highlight will be the selling of miniature clay cows, for which all proceeds will be donated to a fund for the Lost Boys of Sudan. "Tales from the Salt City" will run through Nov. 4 at Syracuse Stage. The following is a complete list of events and partnerships:

EVENTS:

• Saturday, Oct. 18-40 Below Summit: Arts & Entertainment. A backstage tour will begin at 2 p.m. (tickets for Summit participants available on Oct. 18 at Stage's box office).

• Sunday, Oct. 26, after the 7 p.m. performance-StageTalk: Discussion with the cast of "Tales from the Salt City." Archbold Theatre at Syracuse Stage. Free and open to the public.

• Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 1 p.m.-StageTalk: Nottingham Lecture Series on "The Making of Tales from the Salt City." Presented by Kyle Bass, Dramaturg for "Tales." Sutton Pavilion at Syracuse Stage. Free and open to the public.

• Saturday, Nov. 1-Art installation for the "Day of the Dead." Coyne Lobby at Syracuse Stage.

• Sunday, Nov. 2, after the 2 p.m. performance-StageTalk: "Finding Home, Migration to Syracuse." Sutton Pavilion at Syracuse Stage. Free and open to the public.

LOBBY:

• Historical image display in association with the Onondaga Historical Association: Images showing immigration and otherness from early to mid-20th century.
• Miniature clay cows, made by the Lost Boys of Sudan, will be sold: All proceeds will go toward the Lost Boys' Fund.
• Book Sale:
  • "The East/West Quartet" (Theatre Communications Group, 2004) by Ping Chong (limited number of signed copies)
  • "New York Theatre Review 2008" (Black Wave Press, 2008) by Victoria Linchong, featuring the work of Ping Chong
  • "Not Just Child's Play: Emerging Tradition and the Lost Boys of Sudan" (University Press of Mississippi, 2007) by Felicia R. McMahon (all author royalties donated to the Lost Boys)
