Alex Taft, a recent graduate of Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, died Thursday, May 29. He was 28.
Taft, who graduated May 11 with a master's degree in television, radio and film, was killed in a head-on car accident on Interstate 70 in Colorado. He was traveling to Los Angeles to start a mentorship with screenwriter Ron Hart, and was a finalist for the Academy of Television Arts & Science's screenwriting internship.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 3, at 12:30 p.m. in the Reading Room on the fourth floor of Newhouse 3. A moment of silence will be observed at 12:45 p.m.
A hometown memorial will be held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Christ Church in Winnetka, Ill.
