  • TITLE: New York City Department of Education Teach NYC Scholarship

  • SPONSOR: New York City Department of Education Teach NYC Scholarship

  • ELIGIBILITY: Student must have at least 60 undergraduate credits toward a degree in either speech & hearing handicapped education or bilingual speech & hearing handicapped education. Must also be a US citizen or permanent resident and show proof of unconditional acceptance as a matriculated undergraduate junior and a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

  • AMOUNT: Full cost of tuition toward the completion of a degree

  • ADDITIONAL INFO:Scholarship program entrants must sign a contractual agreement with the Department of Education stating that the awardee has met and completed the minimum of 18 credits per year with a B or better in each course. Bilingual participants are also required to pass the New York State Bilingual Education Assessment within the first year of scholarship program. Participants are also required to serve as a New York State certified teachers of speech improvement or bilingual teachers of speech improvement for two years every year the recipient receives the scholarship.
