Financial Literacy Presentations

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Programs provides group presentations on various financial topics per request from organizations on and off campus. Examples of those who have benefited from these presentations include, but are not limited to, First year Forum classes, Gear Up, Syracuse City School District, the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP), Student Success Initiative (SSUI), and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). A variety of topics are covered, ranging from budgeting, saving, and banking basics to credit reports, credit scores, and identity theft.

In addition to group presentations, students can meet to discuss financial matters with a counselor. The counselor can discuss savings plans, budgeting, credit, banking basics and any other financial related topics. Graduating students have the opportunity to meet with the loan education specialist for a personalized loan counseling session. The loan counseling session provides the student with a summary of student loans borrowed, interest rates, and loan repayment strategies specific to the student.
