Student Centers and Programming Services (SCPS) welcomed 11 Student Leads and two higher education graduate assistants back to campus on Friday, August 19. The SCPS professional staff, graduate assistants, and Student Leads participated in a day of team building at the Orenda Springs ropes course in Marcellus. The day culminated with dinner for the Student Leads hosted by the graduate assistants.
SCPS employs more than 100 student employees that help facilitate the daily operations of both Schine and Goldstein Student Center. Areas of employment include: Event and Technical Services, Facilities and Operations, and Information and Event Scheduling. Student Leads are our highest-ranking student managers in important and profound leadership roles for each area. They are responsible for the hiring, training, discipline, evaluation, and recognition of student employees in their units.
Each year they participate in the planning and facilitation of our student employee orientation and training program held the Tuesday prior to Syracuse Welcome. The program includes sessions on our signature customer service program, C.A.P.S. (communication, appearance and problem solving), as well as skill and team building exercises. The staff and students are looking forward to a great academic year! GO ORANGE!!!!!
