Thomas V. Wolfe is the Senior Vice President and Dean of the Division of Student Affairs at Syracuse University. In this position, Tom provides leadership for a staff of more 350 employees, organized into four broad portfolio areas: Health and Wellness; Discovery and Engagement; Inclusion, Community and Citizenship; and Central Services. He oversees a budget of $30 million.

Prior to his appointment to Student Affairs, Tom served as the fifth dean of Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University, from 1999-2008. Before his tenure as dean, he was the Interdenominational Protestant Chaplain at Syracuse University for eight years. Tom has also served as pastor of United Methodist parishes in Moravia and Ithaca in upstate New York.

Since 2010, he has served as a trustee at Lycoming College and is a member of the Executive Committee and the Strategic Issues and Assessment Committee, as well as chair of the Academic Policies Committee. Tom is also a trustee of the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. He has been an elected senator of the University Senate of the United Methodist Church since 2008, and has served as secretary from 2008-2012. Tom will complete a presidential term from 2013-2016.

At Syracuse University, Tom serves on the University Senate, is an adjunct faculty member in the School of Education higher education graduate program, and has taught an Intergroup Dialogue course within The College of Arts and Sciences.

Among his civic interests, Tom serves the Syracuse community as the former president and board member for InterFaith Works of CNY. He co-chaired the 2008, 2009, and 2010 White Ribbon Campaign for Vera House, where he served as board president and as a member. Tom was honored at the 2012 InterFaith Works Leadership Awards Dinner for his contributions to the engagement of interfaith and cross-cultural dialogue as a tool toward deeper understanding of social injustices and action for change.

Tom holds a B.A. degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, a Master of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. He is an ordained elder with the Upper New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was ordained in 1980.
