Jennifer Carnahan

Class of '99 Newhouse graduate, Jennifer Carnahan, has spent most of her career as a marketing executive for industry leading Fortune 500 companies, including:  McDonald's Corporation, General Mills and Ecolab, where she has held positions of increasing responsibility, managing business and product lines over $500 million in annual revenues.  Currently,  Jennifer heads the marketing department for Chamilia, one of the fastest growing personalized accessory brands in the world. In addition to her time at Syracuse University, Jennifer received her MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota in 2010.   

Prior to working in corporate America, Jennifer spent the first five-years of her career working in marketing for various professional sports teams, including:  The Florida Marlins, Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Angels.  

Jennifer currently serves as the President of the Syracuse University Alumni Club of Minnesota, which she re-founded in August, 2009.  Jennifer saw an opportunity to bring together the nearly 1000 alumni in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area for cheering on the Orange, networking and supporting with college recruitment.  Since it's inception, the club has held three student send-off events and held a pre-game tailgate event in September, 2012 when Syracuse played the Minnesota Gophers in football.  The festivities included an autograph session with Floyd Little, a visit from the SU cheerleaders and a turnout of nearly 100 excited fans and alums.  

In addition to her work with the SUACOM, Jennifer also serves as the Marketing Chair for the National Association of Asian MBA's Twin Cities Chapter, an organization dedicated to helping the development and promotion of Asian employees in Corporate America.  

Jennifer is also an avid competitor and has competed in a handful of triathlons and half-marathons. Jennifer and several of her fellow Syracuse alums (former collegiate athletes) traveled around the U.S. to compete in half-marathons.  In August, 2009, Jennifer, Brian Tarrant ('96), Salote Helu van Deutekom  ('97) and Regina Manderano Young ('97) competed in the Chicago Rock & Roll Half-Marathon.  In March, 2013, Jennifer and Pauline Millard ('99) will compete in the New York City Half Marathon.

Jennifer also has a zest for travel and in the past decade has been to 24 countries, 4 continents and 43 states. Buenos Aires, Machu Picchu, Vienna, Tuscany, Barcelona and Orange County, California are among her favorite places in the world.  Jennifer currently resides in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
