Syracuse University in Florence

Syracuse University in Florence (SUF) was founded in 1959 and is one of the oldest study abroad programs in Italy. Our many years of experience, combined with a long-standing relationship within the Florentine community, allow us to offer a program that excels in academics and cultural immersion. At the same time, SUF is in a continuous process of self-renewal, and is a pioneer in community engagement initiatives.

SUF has been consistently ranked as one of the best American study abroad programs, providing distinguished academic curricula and outstanding student support. The SUF faculty are internationally renowned scholars, and our staff is truly dedicated to meeting the needs of today's students.

Villa Rossa



The Villa Rossa

The main campus of SUF is the Villa Rossa, which is centrally located at Piazza Savonarola. It houses classrooms, a lounge, computer facilities with wireless Internet, a caffé bar, and a courtyard garden. The campus also houses the Villa Corsi, with its extensive English-language library of more than 11,000 volumes and a digital image collection. The SUF campus is a ten-minute walk from the historic city center, and is surrounded by a lovely residential neighborhood with a variety of local shops and businesses.
