Application Deadlines and Guidance

The application process can be stressful and we recognize you want to ensure your application is received in full.  To start, please submit the Common Application and the required SU Common Application Supplement.  The table below highlights application deadlines based on your desired option and applicant status.  

Next,  follow-up with teachers to verify that  they’ve submitted their recommendations.  Make certain your high school or college submits the official transcripts to SU.  If required for your first, second or third choice on the application, complete the audition or portfolio requirement.  And, check your records to confirm that test scores (SAT, ACT, TOEFL) will be sent to Syracuse University.  By completing these steps, you will be on your way to a completed application.

Then, comes our role.  We receive tens of thousands of applications along with even more documentation each year.  Because of the enormous amount of material submitted to SU, updates to your application file may be delayed.  Please allow up to two weeks, if applying Early Decision and three to four weeks, if applying Regular Decision for us to update your file.
