The Office of the Vice Chancellor & Provost

The Office of Academic Affairs is headed by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost of the University. The office is responsible for all aspects of the academic mission of the University, ranging from the admission of students to the administration of the schools and colleges, including the undergraduate and graduate degree programs and the research activities of faculty members. Some of the particular responsibilities of the office are the oversight of the academic budgets, the appointment of faculty members, the University library and academic computing, space planning and the graduate school.

Schools and Colleges

Syracuse University consists of 11 schools and colleges offering a wide range of degree opportunities. In addition, University College meets the needs of all SU students during the summer and part-time students during the fall and spring terms. Graduate School
The Graduate School, under Vice President Ben Ware, oversees all graduate degree programs at the University, except for the LLD, which is administered by the College of Law. The Graduate School administers graduate scholarships, fellowships and teaching assistantships, and the Future Professorate Project.

University Library
Suzanne Thorin, University Librarian and Dean of Libraries, oversees a fully automated and user-friendly library system. The Syracuse University library system consists of E. S. Bird Library, as well as libraries for science and technology, mathematics, geology, and physics.

Information Technology and Services (ITS)
Information Technology and Services, under the direction of Vice President and CIO Christopher Sedore, provides students, faculty, and staff with technology resources that support the University's mission of promoting learning through teaching, research, scholarship, creative accomplishment and service.  ITS works in partnership with the technology departments located within SU's schools, colleges and administrative divisions.  This multidisciplinary collaboration among SU's information technology community is nurtured and coordinated through theTechnology Leadership Committee (TLC).

Enrollment Management
Enrollment Management under the direction of Vice President Donald Saleh, is comprised of six units: the Office of Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship ProgramsGraduate Enrollment ManagementAir Force ROTCArmy ROTC, and the Office of the Registrar. The primary responsibility of this division is to provide comprehensive enrollment management and financial aid services to the University, from recruitment through ongoing enrollment of students.

Office of Research
Under the direction of Vice President Gina Lee-Glauser, the Office of Research is responsible for the articulation and implementation of all university policies regarding scholarly inquiry, sponsored programs, and intellectual property. In addition, it is responsible for the development of research and research funding, for the administration of grants, for the negotiation of research contracts, and for the management of the intellectual property that may be created in the scholarly activity of members of the University community.

Office of the Associate Provost for Academic Programs
Associate Provost Andria Costello Staniec oversees the following academic units:

Coalition for Museums and Art Centers
The mission of the Coalition of Museum and Art Centers (CMAC) at Syracuse University is to celebrate and explore the visual and electronic arts through exhibitions, publications, public presentations, education, and scholarship.
